Public Speaking Training:
Talk About Your Family
You can build rapport with your audience by telling some great, funny stories about
your family. This can build a connection with your audience, which you will
learn how to do in my public speaking training.
Most audience members will enjoy listening to you talk about your spouse or
kids in a positive light. Family evokes feelings of joy and happiness in most
people.
Of course, you do run the risk that a few people in the audience may not like
their spouse after a big argument or a divorce, or their kids if they have been
dealing with rebellion or rejection. But most people do like to hear positive
family stories, even when their family might not be so positive at the time.
Generally the benefits of talking about your family far outweigh the risks.
